About the Artist

I grew up riding horseback along winding trails, through running creeks, up and around rocky paths, and listening to my horse’s rhythmic clopping. I remember feeling the wind swirl my long brown hair and savoring the sensual feel of branches palming my face. In this sacred silence, my hands naturally grabbed at trees and bushes, smelling pine boughs closely--leaving their pungent resin on my fingers, grazing peeling barks, and reaching for blackberries from wild, pregnant bushes. These moments defined where I felt most alive and why I paint landscape.
An Augusta, Georgia native, Ms. Jones earned a Bachelors of Fine Art in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia, a Masters of Liberal Arts in Fine Art from Spring Hill College, a Masters of Arts in Cinema Studies from Savannah College of Art and Design, and participated in the University of Georgia's Cortona, Italy Summer program. Her studio is in her home and she welcomes visitors by appointment.
